The devil’s advocate – A classic worth watching one more time

Yesterday we watched the devils advocate. FYI for the younger generation: this is a movie from 1997 with Al Pacino (Scarface, The Godfather, Scent of a Woman, Any Given Sunday, S1m0n), Keanue Reeves (Matrix, Constantine, Speed, John Wick),  and Charlize Theron (The Italian Job, Aeon Flux, Hancock, Prometheus, Kubo and the Two Stings) in the main roles. It is about a young aspiring lawyer, who never loses a case. He gets a job offer from a high-end New York law firm with THE boss (of course Al Pacino. Who else?) in the law business. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity he can’t refuse. Or is it?

This movie is packed with great dialogues and many good “monologues”. Especially Al Pacino plays one of his best roles ever, but Keanue Reeves and Charlize Theron are also on their top game.

The setting, the camera, the music and the whole mood of the movie mirrors the 90’s world with all the aspiring young businessmen and lawyers, who jumped at the opportunity of money and fame.

As you watch the movie more and more will be revealed about what success actually can cost you.

If you have an evening off and don’t know what to do, then this is it: get this movie, pop some corn and enjoy.

Let me know what you think about the movie.
